the staff of the Ridgewood blog
Ridgewood NJ, Parents and all adults who work with youth have an opportunity to talk with and walk with young people to connect faith and life. Youth today are making big decisions about their lives, who to be with, where they are going, and how they will prepare for their future.
Young people in our parishes need someone to accompany them; they need faith companions. Parents of adolescents deserve support and tools for making the faith connection
.
As Jesus walked with the disciples on the road to Emmaus, we can accompany youth, listen to their questions, witness to faith, lead them to encounter Jesus, and empower them for mission. Join us for this workshop to share the skills we can use to help our young people build on their faith as they journey through life.

“Accompany.” That kind of language is modernist poison.
How about “Rescue”?
How many of these “youth”, or their parents for that matter, know that it is a mortal sin if, without a serious reason or advance permission from the local pastor, one fails to assist at mass on any given Sunday or on any Holy Day of Obligation in the Archdiocese of Newark (1/1, Ascension Thursday, 8/15, 11/1, 12/8, and Feast of the Nativity)? Meaning that one must confess that sin to a priest and receive absolution both BEFORE next approaching the altar to receive the Holy Eucharist to avoid committing the even more serious sin of sacrilege?
The answer, of course, is “next to none” because for some strange reason this cold hard fact is never drilled home during homilies, nor is it even mentioned during catechetical instruction such as CCD for young children or Confirmation Preparation for high schoolers. Why such secrecy?
Not to worry, the current “Pope” is destroying the church from the inside.
