” Our town is living the reality of the reign of the 3 Amigos and the 6 th unelected council member, Roberta Sonenfeld. 500 people came to a public meeting to speak out against the high-density housing ordinances. They disregarded the resident’s opposition and plan for a compromise and voted in a bloc to pass the ordinances. They tried to have a giant garage built which extended into Hudson Street, was opposed by surrounding businesses and Mount Carmel. They left the new council with a dilemma. They chose a smaller garage which I believe now would have been defeated as we see the impact of higher parking fees and kiosks needed to fund the project. We have the bike lane to nowhere which has added all sorts of problems to the Wilsey Square area. “
“They advocated and almost got a 90-foot baseball diamond at Schedler which would have required a wall to prevent baseballs from landing on Route 17 at a cost of over 1 million dollars. Paul who received this award is responsible for the concrete ramp at Graydon that is used by no one and would have been dangerous for those with mobility disabilities as the ramp ended up in 4 feet of water. He had a ramp installed at the Stable which if used by a person in a wheelchair as he or she was exiting from the front entrance could possibly result in landing on Maple Avenue. He has enemies because he created them. If you differed with him you were automatically considered an enemy. He treated many residents with hostility and the Village manager at the time suffered humiliating challenges by Paul and was ultimately fired which lead to his pal Roberta being appointed. “
Do you think we can get Passaic Street repaved . We are seeing individuals trip especially on the curb line.
Overbook was finally paved….
Don’t forget the healthbarn in Habernickel. Friend of Roberta had every rule in the book bent to facilitate this money making machine at the expense of the neighbors
Over 20 people spoke against this and Paul laughed in their faces and allowed a business to reap all the benefits that tax payers PAY for. 11 acres, under market rent
And the fact that it shouldn’t be there by green acres LAW
4 major building projects downtown with little regard for resident shopping. Increased meters costs and parking fine enforcement. Shopping downtown is a cash cow for the builders.
After it is over there will again be a shortage of parking downtown. Next cycle.
4 apartment buildings with no regard for school system or taxes
Huge garage that is not needed as retail leaves town
The healthbarn monopolizing a public park, taking away parking , events with adults and drinking like a rental hall
No money for the horrible roads
Trees being chopped down left and right
Council people having affairs
What’s next mayor zucchini?
To the person who wrote:

If this is the case, then why isn’t it shut down??? She can’t simply violate a LAW, right?
Again, the steps are:
1. find out what the law says
2. determine whether she is violating a law (an actual “law”, not just a “guideline” – there is a difference!)
3. if the answer to #2 is “yes”, then press to get her removed and those guilty of violating the law CRIMINALLY PROSECUTED
It’s a 3-step process that shouldn’t be that difficult (assuming she has violated an actual LAW).
Habernickle is lovely
Habernickel is not the rental hall they allow to go in there
