Ridgewood NJ, If you’ve ever spent time exploring the natural beauty of New Jersey, then you can easily see why our Wildlife Management Areas attract the wide variety of animals that live there. After all, with more than 358,000 acres of protected meadows, forests, streams, ponds and wetlands, these areas provide the perfect habitat for wildlife to flourish throughout the state.

But these areas aren’t just here for wildlife to enjoy. They’re here for you to enjoy as well. Whether your passion is birding, photography, hunting, fishing, or simply exploring nature, you’ll find the perfect spot in a Wildlife Management Area.

you can play an important role in protecting these beautiful wildlife habitats.

Wildlife management areas are owned by the NJ Department of Environmental Protection and managed by the Division of Fish and Wildlife.  Maintaining these properties has traditionally been supported and funded by New Jersey’s hunters and anglers. The Wildlife Habitat Supporter program now provides everyone who enjoys the outdoors the opportunity to help fund conservation in the Garden State.
