STEPSS serves the district’s 18-21-year-old population and is designed for students who have met graduation requirements but would benefit from additional skill development before entering independent or interdependent adulthood. The program combines curricular extensions, community-based programming to support the development of life skills, and opportunities to gain practical work experience through supportive internships.

The Open House is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the success of this young program and to make the community aware of this valuable resource. Guests will learn more about the program, tour the facility, see the students in action at various stations, meet our staff, and find out how they can support the program through internship opportunities.

“We could not be more excited and prouder to invite the community in to meet with our adult students and share in their experience at STEPSS,” said Michelle Fenwick, Director of Special Programs.

Light refreshments will be provided, and free parking will be available at the Education Center, 49 Cottage Place, just a few blocks away.

The Open House will be held at 30-38 Oak Street on the lower level of the building. Community members, local business owners, and families are welcome to stop in between the hours of noon and 2:00 p.m. For more information, please contact Michael Kilcullen, Transition Coordinator, or Patrick De Flora, STEPSS Teacher, at 201-670-2700 x20570.
