Teaneck NJ, what started as a child’s toy drone blowing onto a neighbor’s roof turned into an unexpected multi-agency response, Teaneck Police Chief Andrew McGurr revealed.
How It Happened
High winds carried the toy drone out of control, landing it on a neighbor’s roof. Although the situation appeared minor, it triggered a chain of events due to recent protocols for drone-related incidents.
The Teaneck Fire Department, following procedure, notified additional agencies, resulting in responses from:
- Bergen County Hazmat
- Bergen County Bomb Squad
Chief McGurr clarified that these notifications, while standard, made the incident seem more serious than it was. “The Fire Department is obligated to make specific notifications when responding to drone-related calls,” he explained.
Resolution
The Teaneck Fire Department successfully retrieved the drone without any injuries or property damage.
Broader Context: Increased Drone Concerns
The heightened response comes amid ongoing investigations into drone sightings across New Jersey, which have garnered national attention. These investigations have involved local and county officials, as well as state and federal agencies, including the White House and the Department of Homeland Security.
Officials, such as the mayor of Belleville, have highlighted recent hazmat responses tied to downed drones, reflecting growing caution around drone-related incidents.
Why It Matters
While this particular event had a harmless outcome, the response highlights the evolving protocols and heightened awareness around drone activity in New Jersey. It also serves as a reminder of the importance of adhering to drone safety guidelines, especially as they continue to become a part of daily life.

So….. what happened to all the stories on the ACTUAL Military sized commercial drones populating the skies every night?
Is everybody over that story ?
Will we ever get any answers ?
There never was a story. Like all this types of nonsense, it disappears into the ether, where it originated.
Military sized commercial drones in the skies every night? OK. And then you woke up? Someone’s been listening to too much Alex Jones.
