Pickup Truck Crashes Into Hackensack McDonald’s, Injures Employee

Hackensack NJ, early  Tuesday morning, a pickup truck slammed into a McDonald’s in Hackensack, New Jersey, injuring one employee and causing significant structural damage to the building.

Details of the Crash

The Hackensack Fire Department’s 2nd Platoon responded to the incident at approximately 3:20 a.m. at the McDonald’s located at 343 River Street. Firefighters arrived to find a black Dodge Ram 1500 that had collided with the south side of the building, triggering a natural gas leak, a water leak, and compromising the structure’s integrity.

Employee Injured in the Accident

An employee inside the restaurant at the time of the crash sustained injuries. Hackensack firefighters provided immediate medical care until an ambulance arrived to transport the individual to Hackensack University Medical Center. Details about the employee’s condition remain unavailable at this time.

Utilities Secured for Safety

To mitigate further risks, utility services to the building were shut off while emergency crews worked to address the gas and water leaks. The vehicle was safely removed from the structure, and the scene was subsequently handed over to the Hackensack Police Department and the city’s Building Department for investigation.

Ongoing Investigation

The cause of the crash and information about the driver have not yet been disclosed. Officials continue to investigate the incident and assess the extent of the damage to the McDonald’s building.
