Glen Rock NJ, Salvatore Reina, owner of Francesca’s Brick Oven Pizza & Pasta in Glen Rock, is reeling after two recent thefts from his popular pizzeria. Despite the incidents, Reina remains committed to maintaining a positive work environment for his staff and loyal patrons.
Details of the Thefts
The first theft occurred between Jan. 17 and Jan. 18, during which $5,700 in cash was stolen from a safe inside the Rock Road restaurant, according to the Glen Rock Police Department. A second theft was reported this past Saturday night, with an additional $800 missing.
Authorities confirmed that there were no signs of forced entry or damage to the safe, and the Glen Rock Police Department is actively investigating the incidents.
Owner Responds to Incidents
Reina, who has worked at Francesca’s for 17 years, expressed shock and disappointment over the thefts.
“Nothing like this has ever happened before,” he said. Despite the financial loss, Reina emphasized that his primary concern is for his employees’ well-being.
“I’m more concerned about my staff in general. I want them to feel we have a nice work environment, and we still do,” Reina shared with NorthJersey.com.
Pizzeria Remains Resilient
While the thefts have been unsettling, Francesca’s Brick Oven Pizza continues to operate on its regular schedule without disruption.
Reina praised the Glen Rock Police Department for their assistance, stating, “They have been really helpful and professional.”
Community Support and Moving Forward
The pizzeria owner is determined not to let these incidents overshadow the welcoming atmosphere he has cultivated over the years. Francesca’s remains a staple in the Glen Rock community, serving up its beloved brick-oven pizza and pasta dishes.

Boy, what the hell is going on in Glenrock every few days something else is going on you never heard of this and Glenrock before going back years ago. It’s gotten bad.
Terrible. My family loves Francesca’s. We buy takeout every week. Best pizza around here. I hope it is not somebody internal, e.g. a new employee. Whoever it is I hope he/she gets caught.
Any cameras ,
It’s an inside job.
Poor guy sounds like he can’t accept that it is probably one of his own employees who stole from him. Time to lock the safe and get cameras.
Sounds like an inside job!
Coin Boy ?
They will find out. I’m sure the surveillance somewhere around the store.
ICE is on it’s way….
No lock on the safe? How many people would know the combination or how to open it? The list can’t be long.
From the safe???? That really narrows down the list of suspects. Any employees with a drug problem?
