Glen Rock NJ, the Bottle King liquor store in Glen Rock experienced two shoplifting incidents last week, resulting in the theft of two cases of vodka and a shopping cart full of liquor, police said.
First Theft: Two Cases of Vodka Stolen
On Tuesday night, just before 9:30 p.m., the store manager reported that a man and a woman entered the store together. The man grabbed two cases of vodka—valued at $512—and walked out. The pair then fled in a black Hyundai Sonata, according to police. Detectives are reviewing surveillance footage to identify the suspects.
Second Theft: Woman Steals Liquor Cart
Two days later, on Thursday night, police were called again at 9:30 p.m. after a woman stole a shopping cart filled with 17 liquor items worth $269.
Through an investigation, Det. Sgt. James Calaski, Detective Lucas Doney, and Officer Sarah Orsita were able to identify the suspect.
Arrest Made in Paterson
On Saturday, police arrested a 27-year-old woman at her Paterson home and charged her with fourth-degree shoplifting. She was released and will appear before Central Judicial Processing at Superior Court in Hackensack.
Police said the stolen liquor was not recovered.
