Glen Rock NJ, two-vehicle collision early Tuesday afternoon at the intersection of South Highwood Avenue and South Maple Avenue in Glen Rock left one person injured and caused significant property damage, including a snapped utility pole.
The incident occurred on April 22nd, prompting a rapid response from Glen Rock Police, EMS, Fire Department, and Ridgewood Police Department. Glen Rock Police advised drivers to AVOID Maple Ave due to a current traffic issue. A vehicle crash near Maple Ave/South Highwood Ave has closed Maple Ave between Ackerman Ave and Park Ave and will require a detour of traffic until futher notice.

One driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Hackensack University Medical Center’s main campus via a Glen Rock EMS ambulance. The driver of the second vehicle involved—a sedan—reported no injuries and was able to drive away from the scene under the car’s own power.

The crash involved an SUV and a sedan. The SUV was propelled in reverse into a utility pole located just north of the intersection, causing the pole to snap in half due to the force of impact. The SUV suffered extensive damage and required removal by a flatbed tow truck.
