Paramus NJ, a commercially owned mini school bus sustained heavy damage after sideswiping two utility poles along North Farview Avenue on the afternoon of Tuesday, May 20. The accident resulted in injuries to two adult passengers while the driver walked away unscathed.

What Happened?
The mini school bus, traveling northbound, reportedly struck and damaged at least two utility poles. The driver was not injured, but both an onboard aide and a nurse riding in the vehicle suffered minor injuries.

The nurse declined further medical attention after being evaluated at the scene.

The aide was transported by ambulance to Hackensack University Medical Center for further evaluation and potential treatment.
Road Closure & Emergency Response
Following the crash, North Farview Avenue was closed between Colorado Road and Wyoming Road while emergency crews addressed the damage. Crews from PSE&G’s Electric Division arrived to repair the affected utility poles, while a tow truck removed the severely damaged mini bus from the roadway.
Investigation Underway
Members of the Paramus Police Department and Paramus EMS, including personnel from IAEP Local 201, responded swiftly to assist the victims, control traffic, and begin an investigation into the root cause of the crash.
No Students Involved
Officials confirmed that no students were onboard the mini school bus at the time of the accident, and the vehicle was not operating on an active school route.
