FAIR LAWN, NJ — July 8, 2025 — A commercial van overturned on its side in the 400 block of River Road (southbound) late Monday afternoon, July 7, leaving the driver with non-life-threatening hand and arm injuries, according to Fair Lawn police.
The incident occurred during peak afternoon traffic and prompted a rapid response from multiple local emergency services. Fair Lawn Police Department (FLPD), Fair Lawn EMS, Fair Lawn Fire Department Engine Company #1, and the Fair Lawn Rescue Squad arrived on the scene to assist the injured driver and manage road safety conditions.
🚑 Emergency Crews Quickly Respond
First responders immediately tended to the driver, who was transported for medical treatment with injuries described as non-life-threatening. Crews also worked to contain debris and prevent further hazards along River Road, a heavily traveled route through the borough.
A flatbed tow truck was called in to upright the overturned van and remove it from the roadway. The scene was cleared promptly, minimizing traffic disruption in the area.

The Fair Lawn Police Department is investigating the cause of the crash. Officials have not yet released details on what led to the vehicle overturning, but they confirmed that no other vehicles were involved.
