THE RIDGEWOOD NEWS

Ridgewood’s downtown is at a crossroads.

Having survived the past few challenging years, there is a new sense of life and vitality in our Central Business District. Grand openings, expanded stores and a range of programs – from the Guild’s “Amazing Race” to the Chamber’s Fashion Show – are generating excitement and a lot of buzz.

This is an important moment in the life of our community, and it is incumbent upon all of us to seize it and make the most of it.

To that end, we offer our vision of Ridgewood’s downtown – a vision rooted in a profound appreciation of our village’s past and a steadfast commitment to its future.

1. Ridgewood needs high-end apartments.
2. Ridgewood needs a performing arts center.
3. Ridgewood needs parking decks/garages.
4. Ridgewood needs to be more business-friendly.

  1. It all makes sense to me…..what’s the problem?

  2. this sounds reasonable to me…….so what’s the problem with this?

  3. Items 1 & 2 are wants. Items 3 & 4 are needs.

  4. So their vision should be ours?

  5. I cannot afford their vision. Maybe they haven’t heard about the recession. They can’t spend their way out with money that is not theirs. Thank God they don’t hold a higher office.

What happened to the woman who was on their ticket? Did they drop her once they got what they wanted?

  6. Nice to know the Gloom and Doom people are still around to maintain the Status Quo mentality in town.

  7. Hey Paul and Al stay off this blog you already have the Ridgewood news and Paul’s Patch under your thumbs

  8. Ha Ha…

Bottom of the list on how to improve Ridgewood’s Business District:
“4. Ridgewood needs to be more business-friendly.”

    Top of the list:
    “1. Ridgewood needs high-end apartments.”
    (aka Urbanize – “Hobeokenize” Ridgewood.)

Nothing like driving your agenda of radically changing Ridgewood and clothing it in support for business…

Hey Paul – Take the advice of your buddies and “MoveOn”
