RIDGEWOOD, NJ – Well, this isn’t something you see every day. The Ridgewood Police Department recently came across a… let’s just say… very colorful character strolling around town. And no, it wasn’t someone in a flashy summer outfit—it was a domestic parrot!
Apparently, this little escape artist decided suburban life was for the birds (literally) and went on an unauthorized adventure. Officers couldn’t help but notice the parrot doesn’t exactly blend in with the local wildlife. After all, Ridgewood’s usual feathered residents are more “sparrow and robin” than “tropical vacation vibes.”

The RPD posted, “You don’t look like you’re from around here, and we’re pretty sure you’re not native to New Jersey!”
Now, they’re trying to reunite this talkative traveler with its rightful human. So, if you’re missing a feathered friend—or know someone who is—please contact the Ridgewood Police Department before this parrot starts telling everyone what it’s seen on its grand Ridgewood tour.
