Paramus NJ, The spirit of community was on full display in Paramus, New Jersey, on September 13, as more than 50 volunteers came together for a successful town-wide cleanup event. Organized by the Paramus Environmental Commission, the initiative saw residents of all ages dedicate their time to making the borough a cleaner and more beautiful place.
Councilman Michael Wilkins shared some of the more unusual items found during the cleanup, which included a metal pedestrian sign and a shopping cart tire. In total, volunteers managed to collect an impressive 23 bags of trash.
A Coordinated Effort for a Cleaner Town
The cleanup event is a collaborative initiative that brings together a variety of local groups, from scouting and recreation groups to high school clubs and religious organizations. This year, volunteers focused on cleaning up local brooks, taking advantage of the beautiful weather to get outside and make a difference.
The Paramus Environmental Commission extended a heartfelt thank you to all the participants for their hard work. They also gave special recognition to the Paramus Department of Public Works (DPW), which provided essential funding through the New Jersey Clean Communities grant, as well as equipment and staff support.
The success of the event was also made possible by the support of Mayor Chris DiPiazza, the Paramus Council, and the Paramus Police Department, who ensured the volunteers could work safely.
The town-wide cleanup is a powerful reminder of how a community can come together to take action and create a positive impact on the environment.
