Allendale NJ, according to multiple reports, former FBI Director and Allendale native James Comey is expected to be indicted in the coming days. The indictment, anticipated to be filed in the Eastern District of Virginia, will reportedly focus on allegations that he lied to Congress during his testimony on September 30, 2020.
The news comes as the five-year statute of limitations on the alleged offenses is set to expire next Tuesday.

The potential indictment follows a recent social media post from President Donald Trump, who publicly criticized Attorney General Pam Bondi for a lack of action against what he called perpetrators of the “Russia hoax.” In his post on Truth Social, Trump specifically named Comey, along with Senator Adam Schiff and New York Attorney General Letitia James, urging that “JUSTICE MUST BE SERVED NOW!!!”
Sources, including MSNBC’s Ken Dilanian, have indicated that at least one of the charges against Comey will be related to his 2020 testimony. The indictment is expected to accuse him of lying about whether he authorized a leak of information.
