WYCKOFF, NJ – A routine Friday morning commute turned into a dramatic rescue scene in the 300 block of Wyckoff Avenue following a two-vehicle collision. The crash, which occurred on the morning of October 3rd, required the swift intervention of the Wyckoff Fire Department (FD) to free a trapped occupant.
Firefighters from Wyckoff FD utilized specialized tools to remove the driver’s side door of a four-door Mercedes sedan involved in the incident. This action was necessary to safely extricate one of the vehicle’s occupants.
Quick Response by Wyckoff Emergency Services
The emergency response was rapid and coordinated, involving all local public safety agencies:
- Wyckoff Police Department (PD)
- Wyckoff Fire Department (FD)
- Wyckoff EMS
Despite the severity of the collision, which involved the Mercedes and a Kia SUV, officials confirmed a fortunate outcome: no serious injuries were reported. Wyckoff EMTs evaluated the occupants of both vehicles on-scene, and none appeared to require ambulance transportation to a hospital.
Both the damaged Mercedes sedan and the Kia SUV were eventually removed from the roadway by a flatbed tow truck, allowing the Wyckoff Police Department to clear the scene and restore traffic flow.
The incident serves as a reminder of the critical role local rescue services play in quickly and safely managing serious traffic accidents in Bergen County.
