Ridgewood NJ, great news for youth sports in Ridgewood! The Upper Hawes baseball field received a substantial upgrade last week, capitalizing on the school break during the NJEA Convention to complete the work. This transformation was made possible by a generous community effort and a significant investment in the future of Ridgewood’s youngest athletes.

Thanks to a substantial $56,300 donation from the Ridgewood Baseball & Softball Association (RBSA), Upper Hawes has been officially converted and dedicated as a high-quality Little League field.
The Details: A Field Built for Excellence
The primary goal of the upgrade was to ensure the field meets all the necessary specifications and safety requirements for official Little League competition.
The transformation work, executed through a successful collaboration between the RBSA, the Ridgewood Parks & Recreation Department, the Ridgewood Public Schools, and NJ Sports Fields, focused on providing a regulation-sized, high-quality space.
This commitment to enhancing the quality of play and the overall experience is a direct reflection of the RBSA’s dedication to fostering youth athletics and investing in the necessary infrastructure to support Ridgewood’s growing baseball and softball leagues.
Community Power in Action
The successful and swift completion of this project during the school break is a testament to the power of community partnership.
The improved field will now serve as a premier space for hundreds of Ridgewood’s youngest baseball and softball players, offering them a safe and professional environment to practice, compete, and fall in love with the game.

Wow! Looks great!
Literally “pay to play.“
Will Scottie M throw out the first pitch in his cool uniform?
Or will he be too busy with his Schedler remediation plan?
Grown up manchild. Get a life, Scotty.
Much needed upgrade, happy for all the young players that will benefit.
And now kids can safely ride their bikes to the field!
That new scoreboard hasn’t been turned on in 5 years.
