Ridgewood NJ, heads up, Ridgewood residents! With the Thanksgiving holiday fast approaching, it’s time to mark your calendars for changes to municipal services, including special adjustments to parking and waste collection schedules.

The Village of Ridgewood is preparing for the holiday, and these key changes will affect your plans for the long weekend.

Important Closures and Schedule Changes

Please take note of the following municipal closings for the Thanksgiving holiday:

Facility/Service Thursday, Nov. 27 (Thanksgiving) Friday, Nov. 28
Village Hall CLOSED CLOSED
Garbage Collection NO PICKUP Regular Schedule Resumes
Recycling Pickup NO PICKUP Regular Schedule Resumes
Recycling Center CLOSED OPEN (8:00 AM – 12:00 PM)

Remember to plan accordingly for the disruption in trash and recycling services on Thanksgiving Day.


Parking Relief! Overnight Rules Suspended

Traveling or hosting guests this holiday? Good news! The Village is suspending overnight parking rules for the entire Thanksgiving weekend.

  • Suspension Period: Wednesday, November 26 through Sunday, November 30.

  • Action Needed: Residents do not need to call Dispatch for overnight parking during this time.

Enjoy the extra convenience when hosting friends and family who may be staying over for the holiday!
