Ridgewood NJ, “Trees”: An Intimate Look at Ridgewood’s Urban Forest. The Stable, a beloved community art space in Ridgewood, NJ, is currently hosting a serene and striking exhibit showcasing the photographic work of long-time resident Larry Horowitz.

Titled “Trees,” the exhibit features 40 photographs that explore the diverse beauty and hidden details of arboreal life. From grand woodland scenes and detailed studies of bark, leaves, flowers, and fruit, to stunning tree “portraits,” Horowitz captures the quiet majesty of nature.

The best part for local residents? About half of the photographs were taken right here in Ridgewood, highlighting familiar yet often overlooked beauty spots:

  • The Ho-Ho-Kus Brook

  • The Dunham Trail

  • The Central Business District

  • Kings Pond Park

Visiting the Exhibit and Meeting the Artist

Larry Horowitz, who has resided in Ridgewood with his wife, Nancy, for 48 years, took up photography after retiring from a successful career as a corporate financial executive and consultant. His passion for the medium shines through in this diverse collection.
