Fair lawn NJ, The Borough of Fair Lawn is officially having its “Hollywood” moment. Just two years after earning its certification as a “Film Ready Community,” the town’s strategic push to attract Tinseltown has paid off in a big way.

Since February 11, camera crews and trailers have lined the streets of Radburn Plaza as production begins for Power: Origins, the highly anticipated STARZ drama and prequel to the massive Power franchise executive produced by 50 Cent.

The Transformation of The Beauty Loft

The star of the show isn’t just the actors—it’s The Beauty Loft, a local salon that has been a staple of the community since 2019. Owner Cameo Zvanets shared that the production crew completely reimagined her space to fit the gritty, vintage aesthetic of the show, which is set in 1990s New York City.

  • The Makeover: The crew repainted walls and installed custom wallpaper to match the show’s “vibe.”

  • The Timeline: Filming will continue periodically through June 2026.

  • The Promise: Once production wraps, the crew will restore the salon to its original look.

“They really understand that they’re working with small businesses,” said Zvanets. “I feel like it’s been such a great impact for our community.”

What is ‘Power: Origins’ About?

Fans of the Power Universe are eager to see the backstory of the franchise’s most iconic duo: James “Ghost” St. Patrick and Tommy Egan.

  • The Cast: Spence Moore II stars as a young Ghost, with Charlie Mann playing Tommy.

  • The Plot: The series explores their early friendship and the dark circumstances that led them into the world of organized crime.

  • Release Date: The series is expected to premiere later in 2026.

Fair Lawn’s Economic Engine: The “Film Ready” Strategy

The arrival of a major STARZ production isn’t an accident. According to Ryan Greff, Executive Director of Fair Lawn Main Street Inc., the town has been aggressive in marketing itself through the New Jersey Motion Picture and Television Commission’s ReelScout system.
