Twp of Washington NJ, Attention Washington Township residents! The annual Spring into Wellness 5K Run/Walk and Health Fair is happening this Sunday, May 17, 2026.
Whether you are hitting the pavement to smash your wellness goals or planning your Sunday morning drive, here is everything you need to know about local road closures, parking restrictions, and event safety.

The community wellness event kicks off bright and early, bringing together an estimated 200 runners and walkers.

🛑 Traffic Restrictions & Road Closures
To ensure the safety of all participants, the Washington Township Police Department has announced strict traffic guidelines along the race route.
The 5K course primarily impacts the following streets surrounding Schlegel Lake:

Sussex Road

Colonial Boulevard
Key Impact for Residents and Drivers:

No Through Traffic: General vehicular traffic will be strictly limited and blocked along the course route between 9:00 AM and 11:30 AM.

No Street Parking: Parking is strictly prohibited along the entire race route during event hours. Please move your vehicles to driveways or designated parking areas ahead of time.

Residential Access: If you live directly on the race route, local police will grant access to and from your home only if absolutely required.
Safety Warning: If you must drive near or through the race course, please exercise extreme caution. Keep a sharp lookout for the 200+ participants and event volunteers on the roadway.
