the staff of the Ridgewood blog
Ridgewood NJ, For the last several years headlines have have been repeated over and over again about the negative and dangerous effects of bullying. While traditional bullying relies of physical force a new and it seems more negative form of bullying has garnered national attention.
Local events such as the suicide of Tyler Clementi, brought attention to this national problem . So one would expect that awareness would bring more responsiveness from authorities ,parents and businesses that make be used to perpetuate ‘cyber bullying” .
Apparently some didnt get the memo . The Ridgewood blog runs continues sweeps to block certain IP’s as spammers. Sometime the repetitiveness and shear stupidity of the spammer ,forces us to contact the spammer directly or their host provider in order to better focus the blogs resources on more pressing issues.
We recently contacted a web host FDC Servers ( https://fdcservers.net/ )

We were the contacted by a gentlemen named Marco who asked us to produce the spam logs , well fair enough , but we don’t keep them and general this is used as a tactic to stall and cover for the alleged spammer . After some back and forth Marco finally replied thewird <thewird@yahoo.com>

Sorry, I cannot help you without any logs. The internet is a public place, you must learn to defend yourself on your own. No one is going to hold your hand, your not in school.

Well yes the Ridgewood blog can certainly take care of it self , but many can not .Recent reports suggest Cyber Bullying victims are 2 to 9 times more likely to consider committing suicide and nearly 43% of kids have been bullied online. 1 in 4 has had it happen more than once.( https://www.dosomething.org/tipsandtools/11-facts-about-cyber-bullying ) Experts credit cyber bullying as partial responsible for the very sad death of Tyler Clementi. And of coarse the Ridgewood school system has had its share of cyber issues lately . My point being the cyber bullying happens because people know they can get away with it . In a recent survey 81% of young people think bullying online is easier to get away with than bullying in person. My point is that enablers and excuse makers like FDC Servers are just as liable as the excuse makers
