Readers say Bigger trucks, more damage to infrastructure, more problems
The cubic yards being hauled vs. the weight of the vehicles was/is a joke. Any fifth grader in the audience could have figured that out. Really nothing more than insulting the intelligence of the PB, and those opposed to this project.(Actually, even if you are for it you had to at least say to yourself : Does this guy really believe these people are going to buy this? )
The point on the size of the trucks was that you can reduce number of truck trips by using larger trucks (15cy vs. 10cy is already a 33% reduction) and 15cy trucks weigh a heck of a lot more than 10cy trucks and my cause more impact to the road surface and underlying infrastructure.
Most earth moving trucks in No. NJ are 10 cy. I’d question the availability of the 15cy trucks just to begin with. Vallay says there going to use 15cy trucks but what stops their contractor from using 10 cy trucks (which are more readily available) and which INCREASE the number of truck trips 33%??
I’m just sayin’
I agree, but the emphasis was being put on the cubic yards and the reduction in trips when it should have been the weight and the number of trips. Bigger trucks, more problems.
We are on the same page. I just hope the PB is…
agree completely. Bigger trucks, more damage to infrastructure, can’t see kids, etc.
Let’s keep pointing out the flaws in Valley plan and maybe we will prevail.
What is so sad is that the audience seems more informed and is asking better questions than the planning board members. Not a good sign.
