RIDGEWOOD — Residents of Hope Street and Spring Avenue went to a Public Service Electric and Gas workshop on Wednesday night expecting to air their concerns and ask questions about the recent installation of 65-foot-tall utility poles.
What those 60-plus residents got instead at Village Hall was a cut-and-dry informational exhibit — one they say left them exasperated.
More than 20 PSE&G employees staffed six tables set up in council chambers. Each table focused on a different aspect of the project, from construction and engineering to potential environmental impacts. The staffers invited residents to tour the tables and have their questions informally fielded.
But a majority of the residents walked out in protest. Others stayed, after the residents took a vote on how to respond to the format.
“This is not what I came here for,” muttered one as she exited. “Somehow, though, I’m not surprised.”

The residents were not looking for a science fair. PSE&G sent a lot of people and insulted the residents by not adressing their concerns.
The residents were not looking for answers…….they were looking to make speeches.
Guess this wasn’t PSE&G’s first rodeo.
PSE&G sent 20 people and the residents were “insulted?” Maybe if they had talked to the PSE&G people they would have gotten answers to their questions. What exactly were they looking for?
What were they looking for???? PSE&G to cancel the telephone pole installation. LOL
Paul Aronsohn mismanages once again. He stages a big jamboree so he can have his picture taken, but in fact the people wanted to TALK and ASK PUBLIC QUESTIONS. Please, can we have another mayor now????
Don’t blame Paul or the Council…. the belligerent crowd created there own problem, they tried to run meeting and failed.
Yes, blame Paul. He should have set it up to the satisfaction of his constituents. He should not have set it up according to how PSEG wanted it. The people in town are the ones he is sworn to represent. Instead he lets the electric company take the reins. He is pitiful.
Mayor Paul Aronsohn apologist ( Groupies) are quick to sing his praise but don’t blame him if he does something wrong. He set the meeting agenda. He knew and agreed to the PSE&G format for the meeting. He though he could deflect this but he is the Mayor and he should be fighting for us not just setting up meeting.
