WASHINGTON (CBSDC) — Beware the military salute!

The National Football League will reportedly be cracking down on excessive celebrations and taunting this upcoming season.

Pro Football Talk reports that that referees working training camps have been warning players about celebrating too much.

The taunting rule is nothing new in the NFL, but what some critics have dubbed the “No Fun League,” officials will now go a step further to enforce the rule.

  1. About time. For the amount these guys are being paid, they should concentrate on playing rather than celebrating things they are getting paid for. Could you see Jim Brown or Gayle Sayers doing this stuff after they scored a touchdown ? Just give the ball to the ref, accept some congrats from the guys who helped you get there, and head back to the bench.

  2. They should probably first crack down on beating of wives and girlfriends. Then maybe they can stop murdering, carrying of guns, hanging out with punks, etc.

As for celebrating…they should take the advice of Walter Payton, who said about endzone celebrations…… “Act like you’ve been there before”

15 yard penalty makes the most sense to me….from the point of the last ball snap.
