Expert Testifies to Congress that Obama’s ‘Ignoring Laws’ Could Lead to Overthrow of Government

During a congressional committee hearing about the constitutional limits imposed on the presidency and the implications of President Barack Obama’s disregard for implementing the Affordable Care Act as written, one expert testified that the consequences of the president’s behavior were potentially grave. He said that the precedent set by Obama could eventually lead to an armed revolt against the federal government.
On Tuesday, Michael Cannon, Cato Institute’s Director of Health Policy Studies, testified before a congressional committee about the dangers of the president’s legal behavior.
“There is one last thing to which the people can resort if the government does not respect the restrains that the constitution places on the government,” Cannon said. “Abraham Lincoln talked about our right to alter our government or our revolutionary right to overthrow it.”

Nobody is going to overthrow the government. Obama is not going to call time out before the next election so he can crown himself King. In 2016 we’ll all head to the polls and choose between (probably) Clinton or Christie.

wow. attacking and name calling aimed at someone stating potus is violating our constitution and the law. why aren’t your comments directed at Obama who has consistently engaged in behavior that is illegal? the experts are highly qualified with real credentials. I bet neither would engage in your highly intellectual name calling.
Is the guy saying that the overthrow of the government is about to happen? I doubt he is saying that. My guess (and it is jsut a guess since I have not read his testimony) is that over time, if the people feel that the federal government is not respecting the Constitution (and if future Presidents continue down the path that Obama has gone down by selectively enforcing laws or unilaterally changing them), that it could result in an armed revolt. That is not crazy.
Normalcy bias will prevail. Like the frog in the pot of water we’ll be cooked slowly enough to prevent the good-hearted people of this country from perceiving the transition into tyranny. We’ll wake up one morning and find that it’s complete.
More likely our children and their children will look back and realize that Obama did Change America from a land of opportunity that rewarded success to a land of takers dependent on the Government.
This country is heading in the wrong direction.
I hope our generation can get it back on track.
