Good Luck to all.
I cant even figure out what 2 of them do.
Agree–name of store should give a hint as to what it offers. Buyer should not have to work that hard–and won’t.
Anik is a clothing boutique from NYC. Super Cellars mostly sells wine. Pinot’s Palllete is a nationwide chain of studios where you can paint (and drink). Couture Baby – I hope you that isn’t one that you had difficulty with.
Get out much?
So Pinot Pallete has a liquor license? Where did that comes from?
Pinot’s Palllete is a nationwide chain of studios where you can paint (and drink). C Someone should tell them to read the NJ BYOB laws. They are in clear violation and the Village of Ridgewood Council gave them their blessing to do so in total disregard of the law.
Here is the first violation ( I think I saw their advertisement in the Ridgewood News
–
B.Y.O.B. (BRING YOUR OWN BOTTLE)
CAN “B.Y.O.B.” BE ADVERTISED?
Under no circumstances may any
“B.Y.O.B.” (Bring Your Own Bottle) be advertised in any fashion by an
unlicensed restaurant or other public place where food or beverages are sold to the general public. A person
who is found guilty of violating this prohibition is considered a disorderly person offense

Second Violation ( Key word is restaurant) ( No Cocktails)
In New Jersey, customers of an unlicensed restaurant may be permitted by the restaurant to bring their own wine or beer unless there is as municipal ordinance prohibiting it. However, restaurant owners may not advertise the fact that they are a B.Y.O.B. friendly restaurant. They also may not allow customers to bring liquor or hard alcohol to the restaurant.
So when this came up at a Council meeting I think Rev. Al said something to the effect that the ABC law are antiquated. So I get it. The Ridgewood Council enforce the laws that they thinks is modern.
B.Y.O.B. Brings Liability
The Second District, in Simmons, et al v. Homatas, No. 2-08-0138, 2008 Ill. App. LEXIS 1200 (2nd Dist. Dec. 3, 2008), recently found that an entertainment venue could be subject to liability for negligence by acting in concert with its patrons, who brought their own alcohol to the venue and were negligent in their own right by driving while visibly intoxicated. Additionally, ejecting visibly intoxicated patrons and placing them on public roadways in such a state is clearly sufficient to make the venue liable for the legal cause of a wrongful death which was clearly foreseeable. This decision could lead to frightening ramifications for those hosting holiday or other parties in the New Year.
