Former Director of the Department of Pediatrics at The Valley Hospital says Valley Should Move
For those whose didn’t see Dr. Cannalito’s letter, it can be found athttps://www.northjersey.com/opinion/opinion-letters-to-the-editor/the-record-letters-saturday-oct-18-1.1112286
His final statement is “The Valley Hospital should not have to repeatedly put up with this nonsense. It would be better served if it boycotted the village and moved the hospital to another town.”
While our motivations are different, I have to agree with his conclusion – if Valley continues to contend it simply can’t live within the confines of the H-Zone and some normal sized variances, it would be better served if it moved.
He is the former Director of the Department of Pediatrics at The Valley Hospital.

Glad you saw this and posted it….what a skunk.
I saw the letter yesterday and was looking forward to commenting.
He comes across as a spiteful child. Rehashes the same worn out arguments without adding any intelligent points.
A man who works at Valley and lives in Mahwah has no standing in our Master Plan decision making. Maybe he should boycott Ridgewood and stay in Mahwah.
Valley’s employees have no say in this matter. It does not matter if he is a doctor or a valet parking worker.
There both the same these days….
Valley needs a new management team, they have totally screwed this thing us since the beginning .
it was ill conceived and ill executed from the very start , time for Audrey to resign
dont let the door hit you on the a$$ on the way out
What a C R eep!
Did Cannalito graduate from that medical school in Greneda ?
Move to mahwah. There is nothing in Mahwah.
Check out Cannalito’s other letter (from 2010), https://www.northjersey.com/opinion/on-expansion-of-the-valley-hospital-1.941110?page=all
In it, he says “I suggest that the Valley administration, if it has not already done so, explore the option of moving the hospital out of Ridgewood, then consider converting its campus in one of three ways: as an in-patient and out-patient mental health and/or drug treatment and rehabilitation center, a nursing care facility or housing.
“It is often better to deal with someone or something you are familiar with and know, even if it is not ideal, than take a risk of dealing with an unknown person or thing. Ridgewood residents should carefully consider that.”
I wonder if he got his playbook from that attorney who unsucessfully suggested if zoning for a house on Ridgewood Avenue wasn’t changed to two homes, it might become a drug rehab.
I would like to know if the kind doctor is for or against the expansion on the Crossroads site. Would cramming more shopping harm local businesses, add to traffic congestion and degrade Mahwah’s quality of life? What say you, doctor?
Yes, valley should move next to this stupid buffoon’s house in Mahwah and spent the next ten years building a monstrous structure. What a stupid putz this guy is.
#10 – that’s too funny. I remember that threat well during the subdivision hearings and someone pointing out that, by NJ Code, ALL properties are subject available to use as half-way houses, rehabilitiation facilities, etc. I think we Villagers are growing tired of these threats and assaults from developers, including Valley Hospital. Because, let’s face it, Valley Hospital IS a developer interested only in their financial gain.
Sorry, Valley can’t move next door . . . another member of his family owns that house (yes, really). I guess the good doctor never learned how to play nice with his neighbors .
