How well run is your state? Assessing a state’s management quality is hardly easy. The current economic climate and standard of living in any given state are not only the results of policy choices and developments that occurred in the last few years, but can also be affected by decisions made decades ago, and by forces outside a state’s control.
Each year, 24/7 Wall St. attempts to answer this question by surveying various aspects of each state. To determine how well states are managed, we examine key financial ratios, as well as social and economic outcomes. This year, North Dakota is the best-run state in the country for the third consecutive year, while Illinois replaced California as the worst-run state.

Nice to see Christie doing good for NJ.
and now The Trenton dimwits want to raise the gasoline tax, so the ranking will fall cuz that’s one of the only good things we’ve got going for us
Even if they raise the gas tax five cents NJ prices will still be less than most other states.
You’re a real democratic bumkisser
It already costs us over 2 million per mile to redo a road thanks to you over priced union types.
We are talking the price of gas that tax money goes to a transportation fund ,currently going broke to fix roads and bridges regardless of who is doing the work.
let audit the fund first , then we can see where the money went
Thanks Christie!
You’re that clueless??
If it costs us 2 million per mile, we could get a lot more for our money if we allowed non-union labor.
If it costs other states $500,000 per mile, its simple.
Ummm well not for a union mouth.
So ill splain it for you small minds.
In NJ, if we have 10 million to spend, we repave 5 miles of roads.
If we had lower costs of 500k per mile, we could repave 20 (TWENTY MILES) of road with that same 10 million.
Get it now? See what unions are good for?
