Reader says the Mayor does indeed go out of his way to slant the news.
Do you all recall when our Mayor squelched a negative letter-to-the-editor that Mrs. Linda MacNamara had sent to the Ridgewood News? In the interest of TRANSPARENCY, she gave a copy to the Council in advance of the publication, even though it had already been accepted by the RWD News. The Mayor then told the Editor not to print it (Mr. Ed Virgin was out of town, but his next-in-command took the order from Mayor Aronsohn and obeyed it). Yes, this is true. The Mayor does indeed go out of his way to slant the news. Mind you, this was a letter to the editor, not a news story, so the writer’s opinion should have gone through to printing. It was a horrible, blatant act on the part of Mr. Aronsohn.
P.J you think Albert our Deputy Mayor is any better ?
The Mayor of Ridgewood
on Why Transparency Works
A Report by Alison Mauro
According to Paul Aronsohn, Mayor of Ridgewood, NJ, and featured guest at the January 8 BGR meeting, good governance hinges on a rich dialogue between residents and the elected officials who create policy. He says that receiving more input from residents results in better policy and therefore empowers him to do his job.
Although the main topic of the evening was intended to be the role of websites in public openness and improved government performance, much of the conversation centered around the stark differences between Aronsohn’s concept of governance and the attitudes of public officials in some other Bergen County municipalities. For example, Teaneck residents in attendance pointed out that the majority of their elected council members are unreservedly hostile to the very concept of public input, and they are often uncivil when townspeople attempt to speak at meetings. According to our members, the dominating mindset is that public meetings are only for show, and the real work is done in private. In fact, time allotted to public commentary at Teaneck meetings has recently been reduced by 40%.

Is that the same Steven Brog that was on the Mayor’s last civilly panel . I hear he didn’t have anything nice to say about your blog.
that is an understatement lol
Wow the Mayor and his cohorts have all the base covered.
Borg of course would not have anything good to say about the Blog, because the Blog is competition for him.
The mayor and his cohorts do not have all the bases covered. They cannot control the voters. And we will vote them out.
