The ex-Marine who organized an anti-Muslim rally outside the Islamic Community Center of Phoenix Friday evening said he’s going into hiding after receiving several death threats.
“This is proof tyranny is in America,” said Jon Ritzheimer, revealing he’s come under siege since taking to Facebook to organize the event.
Up to 500 protesters gathered in 100-degree heat — some clutching assault rifles, American flags and placards — in the latest flashpoint in the U.S. anti-Islam movement.
Ritzheimer planned the protest, billed as “Freedom of Speech Rally,” in response to an ISIS-inspired attack outside a controversial Prophet Muhammad cartoon contest May 3 in Texas.
Two gunmen were shot dead by SWAT team members as they attempted to storm the Curtis Culwell Center in Garland, Texas, an event organized by anti-Islamic activist Pamela Geller.
But now Ritzheimer claims he’s been targeted by terrorists.
How can this person call himself an American while engaging in the act of denying religious freedom to his fellow americans? And now he has the nerve to hid behind the flag and cry “tyranny”.
I hope the people he is trying to oppress take the high road, but he deserves whatever he gets.
11:00, how would you react if protesters gathered outside your place of worship, claiming that adherents to your faith react with violent and murderous reprisals to symbolic insults?
Would you, in fact, react with a violent, murderous reprisal?
Or would you behave like a normal person?
Think about it!

Something about those “folks” who just won’t stop clinging to their guns and their religion, right?
Oh yeah, that’s right…it turns out that those “folks” about which our fearless leader spoke so insultingly while still merely a POTUS candidate are and always have been more or less uniformly law abiding and orderly. What are we to think, then, of the particular category of so-called “bitter clingers” who drive 900 miles from their hovels in Michigan to storm free-speech conferences in Texas when we find they are not what we in our ignorance expected them to be (i.e., redneck bible-thumpers) but instead are clutching not only their Kalashnikov AK-47 assault rifles (that is, fully automatic rifles, as opposed to the totally legal semi-automatic rifles the Daily News reporter most likely saw and deliberately mis-described as “assault rifles”) but also their Muslim “religion” together with vests full of TNT?

If freedom for this religion includes the right to kill people for pictures, it’s not much of a religion. It’s a murderous cult.

1:08: do you know the difference between a religion and a cult? I will tell you. In a cult, there is at least one person who knows beyond the shadow of a doubt that it is all made up. In a religion, that person is dead.
12:59, separation of church and state is a key part of the U.S. Constitution, you should try reading. “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal.” Not Christian men or Muslim men, or Jewish men… ALL men. You’re nothing more than a bigot, fanning the flames of hatred
10:10am, please cite the “separation of church and state” provision of the U.S. Constitution. I wasn’t aware of it and would like to know the specific language to which you are referring.
