Ridgewood NJ , Just got word that teachers are not willing to chaperone due to contact not being signed.
Ridgewood Parents are outraged! The Camp will be daycamp instead of overnight.
The Ridgewood BOE had previously issued this statement on the contract talks with the REA , “The Board and the REA will continue to negotiate with each other in good faith in a respectful manner.” . We guess the teachers didn’t get the memo.
Teachers have never gotten the memo!
As soon as they threaten to withhold college recommendations the district will cave.
Witholding college recommendations by greedy teachers is nothing new in the village, it happened a few years back when my daughter was getting ready for college.Priority for the teachers is the there own pocketbook and nothing else.
People move to Ridgewood because of excellent schools yet anonymously trash teachers when they attempt to use what little leverage they have when negotiating a contract. They’re no different than anybody else. I don’t believe they are crying poverty. Seems like they don’t want their benefits cut, Haven’t you had the same concern at some point in your career? I have 2 kids in parochial school so I could care less if this ever gets resolved. Just kind of disappointed by the mud slinging.

Children should never be “leverage”! but the Teacher Appreciation party is still on. Hypocrites.
