Glen Rock NJ, a GoFundMe campaign established in her memory has surpassed $50,000, with all proceeds going toward a new scholarship fund at the Academy of Our Lady, a private Catholic school in the borough.

A Mother’s Strength and a Nurse’s Heart

Kimberly Castelli was only 40 years old when she passed away on December 10. Her story is one of extraordinary resilience; she was diagnosed with metastatic colon cancer while pregnant with her fourth child. Despite the diagnosis, she fought through more than a year of treatment, and her youngest child was born healthy this past February.

As a nurse within the Glen Rock School District, Kim was known for her “extraordinary kindness” and “quiet strength.” She dedicated her professional life to caring for the borough’s children, and her community is now ensuring that care continues through her legacy.

The Kimberly Castelli Scholarship Fund

The funds raised will support students in need at the Academy of Our Lady, a faith-filled community that reflected Kim’s deeply held values.

“Kim had a special heart for children and believed strongly in the power of Catholic education to shape not only minds, but souls,” her family shared in a statement. “Creating this scholarship is a way to carry forward her spirit of generosity.”

The scholarship aims to:

  • Provide financial assistance to families in need.

  • Support students seeking a faith-based education in Glen Rock.

  • Commemorate Kim’s commitment to community and compassion.

How You Can Support

The Glen Rock community continues to rally behind the Castelli family—including her husband and four young children. While the initial goal has been reached, the scholarship fund remains open for those who wish to contribute to its long-term sustainability.

  • To Donate: Contributions can be made to the general scholarship fund at the Academy of Our Lady via the official memorial page.

  • To Support the Family: The community asks for continued prayers for Kim’s husband and children during this difficult holiday season.

The campaign tagline, a quote from Matthew 25:23, perfectly encapsulates the life she lived: “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
