Ridgewood NJ, this holiday season, the Ridgewood High School Alumni Association is calling upon its graduates and community members to support its most ambitious project yet: the creation of Alumni Square. Unveiled during Homecoming Weekend, this new outdoor gathering space is designed to beautify the campus, enhance learning, and serve as a dedicated place for remembrance.

In the spirit of giving, the 501(c)(3) nonprofit urges you to consider a tax-deductible donation to help bring Alumni Square to life and strengthen the school’s core value: the Tradition of Excellence.

Introducing Alumni Square: A Space for Community and Remembrance

Alumni Square, located outside the Little Theater, is the Alumni Association’s newest capital project, fulfilling the “Beautification” (B) pillar of its original ABCs of Giving vision.

Alumni Square will serve multiple purposes:

  • Alumni Hub: A welcoming outdoor gathering spot for alumni during events like Homecoming, graduation, or casual visits back to the campus.

  • Student Learning: A vibrant, flexible space for current students and faculty to hold classes, meet for group assignments, or simply enjoy lunch.

  • Lasting Tributes: Most importantly, the Square will be a place to honor and remember classmates who are no longer with the community.

You can create lasting tributes through the campaign, including commemorative blue stone memorial pavers, new tree plantings, and thoughtfully placed benches.

The ABCs of Giving: Guiding the Mission

The Alumni Association was founded in 2014 by former Principal Tom Gorman ’87 and a dedicated group of alumni who recognized that declining state funding required strong alumni support. They established the blueprint known as the ABCs of Giving, which still guides the organization’s funding priorities:

  • A – Active Learning Spaces

  • B – Beautification (The focus of Alumni Square)

  • C – Curriculum

Make Your Gift Have Maximum Impact

The Alumni Association is making it easier than ever for alumni and supporters to contribute to the next chapter of Ridgewood High School.

  • Flexible Donations: Gifts can be made via check, wire, credit card, Apple Pay, and PayPal.

  • Tax Advantage: As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, all gifts are tax deductible.

  • Corporate Matching: Check if your employer offers a corporate matching gifts program—your contribution could have twice the impact! Donations can also be made through Donor Advised Funds.

Every contribution, no matter the size, helps ensure the scope of the Alumni Square project grows and that the “Tradition of Excellence” continues to thrive at RHS.
