An all Democratic panel? Or has this moved to a campaign event for PA? And we all thought he was just being civil.
At some point these quasi-public meetings move from discussing procedure (i.e., the process by which unreconcilable dissenters are isolated, frozen, and embarrassed, preferably one at a time), to discussing substance (once the meetings have been purged of non-likeminded people, the real agenda can be discussed and moved forward), all without the need to publish an agenda before the meeting or the minutes afterward, UNLESS…both M’s Knudsen and Sedon would do us all the favor of breaking up the party by attending all of these meetings in their official capacities, thereby triggering the Sunshine Law…?

No they are not missing in action. They are not allowed to attend because of the sunshine law.
They can attend. The Sunshine Law wasn’t passed to warn public officials against congregating! It was passed to ensure that when they do congregate and discuss matters of public concern the public is notified in advance of the nature of the meeting and the agenda, and afterwards of what happened at the meeting. There is no reason this law can’t be invoked by councilmembers or one or more members of the public to impose some order on these soon-to-be political Kum-Ba-Yah meetings the three amigos are so fond of promoting and attending, whether in their official capacity or otherwise. Ridgewood is not set up to handle direct influence by partisan or self-interested non-resident panel members on matters of public concern, whether they are the Publisher of the Bergen Record, or the County Executive of Bergen County, but that is precisely what the Mayor is laboring to impose.
They can attend. Some of these poster should read about the Sunshine Law and who and when Council people can attend. Don’t use it as and excuse.
