Any Republican would be Better in the Governor’s Mansion than all the Democrat Candidates

op-ed from Bergen County GOP Chairman Jack DeLorenzo

Whomever wins the June 10 Republican gubernatorial primary, it is incumbent for all New Jersey Republicans to put aside old grievances and unite behind the GOP nominee. Any Republican would be better in the governor’s mansion than all the Democrat candidates. If the Democrats win the gubernatorial election, NJ’s economy will continue to shrink, entrepreneurs will continue to move out, young couples will continue to look towards other states to raise families, senior citizens will continue to move out of state to retire, and the cost of living will continue to skyrocket.

All Republican candidates should be committed to shrinking Trenton, lowering taxes, supporting law enforcement, and working with President Trump to make NJ great again. All of the Democrat candidates prattle on and on about fighting Trump and are committed to ignoring the kitchen table bread and butter issues, which are driving up costs and driving out New Jersey’s middle class. If Democrats win a third consecutive term in the governor’s mansion, Trenton will be in full force coercing suburbs to build more high-density housing, changing the fabric of suburban NJ forever.

If elected, the Dems will expropriate tax dollars from well-run school districts and municipalities, transferring them to woke, bureaucratically bloated, tax-funded left-wing political machines masquerading as “non-profits” and school districts formerly known as Abbot. If New Jersey Republicans lose, Democrats will be emboldened and reinvigorated. Their national efforts, stymied by President Trump and the GOP run House and Senate, to push an America-last agenda teaching elementary school children they can switch sexes sans consequences, that America is the root of all evil, and that the police are the problem not crime and criminals, will have new life blown into it in our state.

We cannot let that happen. More and more Democrat and Democrat leaning independent voters are coming to the GOP. For each time this happens, it is a two-vote shift – Democrats lose a vote and Republicans gain one. Every Republican who does not vote in the general election because their preferred primary candidate did not win the gubernatorial primary election is giving the Democrats one vote. While the number of Republicans and Republican leaning independents is growing, with all of this on the line, we cannot risk losing even one Republican vote. If we are going to rebuild our state from the economic devastation of the Murphy administration, if we are to move beyond the manufactured issues of the Democrat created culture wars to address the ever-increasing cost of living and NJ’s ever-shrinking middle class, we must unite! Then, together, with our nominee for Governor and the fate of our state, we must FIGHT!
