Elmwood Park NJ, Elmwood Park Police are investigating an early morning armed robbery at a 7-Eleven convenience store on Tuesday. Officers responded to the scene at approximately 4:34 a.m. after receiving a report of the crime.
Upon arrival, the store clerk informed officers that the suspect, described as a young man wearing a white, hooded Nike sweatshirt and gray pants, entered the store and brandished a large knife or machete. The suspect demanded that the cash drawer tray be removed, and after the clerk complied, he stole approximately $500 in cash before fleeing in an unknown direction.
Despite a search of the area, conducted with assistance from the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit, the suspect remains at large. The sheriff’s Crime Scene Unit also processed the scene for evidence.
The Elmwood Park Police Department Detective Bureau is actively investigating the incident. Authorities are urging anyone with information to contact the Elmwood Park Police Department at 201-796-0700.
