>40th District Towns to Receive Increased School Aid
July 07, 2011 -Senator Kevin O’Toole is happy to announce that local school districts will receive increased school aid for the 2011-2012 school year.
Senator O’Toole worked closely with the Christie Administration in an effort to gain a fairer share of school aid dollars in the final state budget signed by the Governor.
“School children and property taxpayers are the primary beneficiaries of the Governor’s decision to dedicate additional state revenue to school aid for suburban communities,” said Senator O’Toole “I’m pleased that Governor Christie worked with us over the past several months to dedicate additional state revenues to school aid for suburban communities. By making tough choices and using an unexpected bump in state revenues wisely, we were able not only to increase aid over last year, but to double the rate of increase that was originally proposed in March.”
School aid for communities in the 40th District will be allocated as follows:

What a shocker. Ridgewood BOE and Fishbein misrepresented the delivery of state grants in order to push through their pet projects and get the town to vote on the yes on the bond.
I even seem to remember Fishbein and Lenhard guaranteeing that the grants would not be held up in spite of the economic uncertainty of the state.
IT IS TIME TO FIRE FISHBEIN and vote no-confidence in Lenhard & Brogan and get them out of there. I would rather have the state takeover the school system that let these useless fools continue to run our school system into the poor house and put a drain on the taxpayers in the community.
Just to be note, I am not against spending money to ensure the future success of our children. However, money needs to be spent wisely and have a strong and provable return on investment. Turf fields that need replacement and continuous maintenance (b/c they were idiotically built in a flood zone) does not represent wise spending. The return on investment does come close to breaking even as not nearly enough of the student population benefits.

John Cook — The White House released its annual salary report last week, and as usual, it’s nice to work for Barack Obama: Most staffers who were there for more than a year got a salary bump. A bigger one than you did.
The last time we checked in on White House salaries, we found that an astonishing 75% of continuing staffers got raises from 2009 to 2010—a huge number given the fact that, according to compensation experts, most companies had skipped routine raises that year in reaction to the economic crisis that the White House was busy failing to solve. This time around—from 2010 to 2011—the ratio is a little less dramatic. Of the 270 White House staffers who have been there for more than a year, 146—or 54%—received raises. The average salary increase was 8%. If you look at only staffers who got raises, the average increase was twice that.

At a reorganization meeting Tuesday night, Charles Nalbantian was appointed chairman of the Ridgewood Planning Board for a four-year term, with Albert Pucciarelli remaining as vice chairman.
Nalbantian, a management consultant who has served on the board since 2007, will replace David Nicholson, a long-time board member who stepped down last month.

The New Jersey Supreme Court denied an appeal Wednesday that could have derailed Hackensack University Medical Center’s plans to re-open Pascack Valley Hospital in Westwood as a 128-bed community hospital, officials said.
The court’s decision not to hear the appeal — effectively upholding a lower court’s earlier denial — means that the last remaining legal hurdle has been removed for HUMC to apply for state approval for the hospital, said Robert C. Garrett, the medical center’ s president.

American Petroleum Institute CEO Jack Gerard tells Newsmax that easing the Obama administration’s restrictions on drilling for oil and gas could create more than half a million new America jobs.
He also states that a long-delayed pipeline from Canada can help the United States and its northern neighbor provide 92 percent of America’s domestic fuel needs within two decades.
But Gerard warns that the Obama administration’s “fundamentally wrong” energy policies are having a “very significant adverse impact on our energy policy” and charges that attacks on the oil industry by Democrats are “punitive” and “vindictive.”

Sometimes magic tricks just aren’t that great, and even the most innocent, wide-eyed child can’t be fooled by the illusionist’s flourish. Such is the case with the rabbit the White House is trying to pull out of its magic hat by claiming that President Barack Obama’s stimulus has created or saved 2.4 million jobs at a cost of $666 billion, all while the United States continues to suffer 9.1 percent unemployment. If you do the math, that comes out to around $278,000 per job.
That information comes from a White House Council of Economic Advisers (CEA) report released last Friday that desperately tries to maintain the illusion that Obama’s stimulus has saved the day for struggling Americans.
If you take the CEA at its word, you might be a bit confused. Two quarters ago, it claimed that the stimulus added or saved just under 2.7 million jobs. That’s 288,000 more jobs than it claims the stimulus has created or saved today. (The Congressional Budget Office has downgraded its claim of the stimulus’ “success,” too.) Compare that to the President’s promise to create 3.5 million jobs by 2010—the economy, instead, lost millions of jobs, leaving Obama 7.3 million jobs short of his goal.
