Ridgewood NJ, in what can be called an absolute lapse of judgment and slap in the face to every Ridgewood resident the Bergen County Council of Churches has shamefully awarded the former ethically challenged adulterous Ridgewood Mayor Paul Arosohn the “Presidents Award” ‘
This is truly unbelievable. A man who has an ETHICS VIOLATION from the Local Finance Board for spending public funds belonging to Ridgewood residents in order to advance his own agenda.
And of course, that goes without mentioning the very public adulterous relationship with a fellow councilperson.
Just. Go. Away.
One wonders if he was also secretly banging the individual who proudly posted the notice of his award on several community Facebook pages. Well Jan?
So let’s see. He slept with a married woman while married. And the woman was a fellow elected councilman, so pillow talk was taking place about things like high density housing and parking garages. He attempted to kill Mike Sedon’s candidacy by telling Mike’s employer (a Staten Island newspaper) that Mike was running for elected office (which was absolutely not a conflict, different states for God’s sake). He interfered with freedom of the press and speech by STOPPING PUBLICATION of a citizen’s letter to the editor that was critical of him. He lied to Father Ron of Mount Carmel in order to bulldoze his massive garage project ahead. He attempted to get a citizen fired from his job because the citizen was openly critical of him. He bullied Councilwoman Walsh at a public meeting about a parking ticket (teaming up with Pucciarelli on this one). And this, ladies and gentlemen of this fine town, is only the START of the listing of his horrific behavior. Who the hell is the council of churches?????

Careful “So let’s see,” libel and defamation laws exist. At least one thing you’ve stated is libelous AND defamatory. He’s no longer a public figure.

Our town is living the reality of the reign of the 3 Amigos and the 6 th unelected council member, Roberta Sonenfeld. 500 people came to a public meeting to speak out against the high density housing ordinances. They disregarded the residents opposition and plan for a compromise and voted in bloc to pass the ordinances. They tried to have a giant garage built which extended into Hudson Street, was opposed by surrounding businesses and Mount Carmel. They left the new council with a dilemma. They chose a smaller garage which I believe now would have been defeated as we see the impact of higher parking fees and kiosks needed to fund the project. We have the bike lane to nowhere which has added all sorts of problems to the Wilsey Square area. They advocated and almost got a 90 foot baseball diamond at Schedler which would have required a wall to prevent baseballs from landing on Route 17 at a cost of over 1 million dollars. Paul who received this award is responsible for the concrete ramp at Graydon that is used by no one and would have been dangerous for those with mobility disabilities as the ramp ended up in 4 feet of water. He had a ramp installed at the Stable which if used by a person in a wheel chair as he or she was exiting from the front entrance could possibly result in landing on Maple Avenue. He has enemies because he created them. If you differed with him you were automatically considered an enemy. He treated many residents with hostility and the Village manager at the time suffered humiliating challenges by Paul and was ultimately fired which lead to his pal Roberta being appointed.
He is still a public official. Appointed, not elected. Still fair game.

Add to the list of his misdeeds – attempted to block the hiring of 2 new police officers because 1 of the proposed new hires was the child of a political rival.
And some how he changed ordinances and snuck the healthbarn into a public park with robertas help. Who is the owners buddy…Gwen!
