Ridgefield Park NJ, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of YAO HUI LIU (DOB: 3/05/1993; single; unemployed) of 5146 F Street, Philadelphia, PA for possession with the intent to distribute marijuana. The arrest is the result of an investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Jason Love.
On February 13, 2023, during a narcotics investigation, detectives from the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotic Task Force conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle as it traveled through Bergen County, NJ. The investigation revealed that the driver, YAO HUI LIU, was transporting eighty-seven plastic bags of marijuana, each weighing approximately one pound.
As a result of the investigation, YAO HUI LIU was arrested at the scene and charged with first-degree possession with intent to distribute marijuana over twenty-five pounds, N.J.S.A. 2C:35-5b(10)a. LIU was released pending a first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack, NJ.
Prosecutor Musella states that the charge is merely an accusation and that the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, and he would like to thank the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance with this investigation.
