Wood-Ridge NJ, a routine commute in Bergen County took a terrifying turn this week when a tractor-trailer driver allegedly brandished a firearm during a heated road rage confrontation.
The incident, which occurred in Wood-Ridge, NJ, led to a swift police response and the eventual arrest of a 59-year-old Mercer County man. Here are the latest details on the investigation and the charges filed.

According to Wood-Ridge Police Captain Joseph Biamonte, the incident unfolded on Thursday, Feb. 26, near 1 Passaic St. Witnesses reported that Tommy Tyner, 59, of East Windsor, pointed what appeared to be a black handgun at another motorist during a traffic dispute.
The victim, fearing for their life, alerted authorities, triggering an immediate mobilization of local law enforcement and detectives.
Police Locate Suspect at Curtiss-Wright Complex
Officers Timothy Janz, Mark Torsiello, and Christian Hutchison, alongside Detectives David Marchitelli and Roberto Cangialosi, rushed to the scene. They quickly identified the suspect’s tractor-trailer parked outside a factory within the Curtiss-Wright Complex.
Upon arrival, officers found the truck’s driver-side door standing wide open. Witnesses informed police that the driver had fled into a nearby factory building just moments before sirens arrived.
The Arrest and a Surprising Discovery
A man matching Tyner’s description was spotted exiting Building 68 of the complex shortly after. Following a brief investigation at the scene, Tyner was taken into custody.
During a search of the area, Officer Janz located and secured the weapon involved. While it appeared to be a lethal weapon during the heat of the road rage incident, police confirmed it was actually an imitation firearm.

THOUGH TYNER SAID THE U-HAUL DRIVER THREATENED HIM FIRST EITH THE SAME THREAT HES THE ONLY ONE WHO ENDED UP IN CUFFS AND BEING ARRESTED. HE BEVER POINTED A GUN ONLY SHOWED IT. HE UHAUL DRIVER POINT AT HIM PUMPING HIS TRIGGER FINGER. TYNER IS PRESENTLY SEEKING TO PAY FOR A LIE DETECTOR TEST FIR HIM AND HIS ACCUSER TO SEE WHO TELLING THE TRUTH ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED.
