According to the FBI, the man casually pedaled into the parking lot of Newfield National Bank on Shiloh Pike around 9:30 a.m. Tuesday. Once inside, he whipped out a gun, demanded money from a terrified teller, and then biked off into the breeze.

Local authorities believe he may be saving up for an actual getaway car next time.

The Description: Bank Robber or Budget G.I. Joe?

Witnesses—and security footage—describe the suspect as dressed for both a robbery and a low-budget stealth mission:

  • Hat and face mask combo (classic “I’m up to no good” attire)

  • Dark sunglasses (for that mysterious look)

  • Gloves (fingerprint-free since ’03)

  • A black jacket with gray patches and a touch of camouflage, because obviously

  • Gray pants, which presumably matched the overall vibe of “tactical but thrifty”

No Injuries, Just a Major WTF Moment

Thankfully, no one was injured during the robbery, though the teller’s sense of reality may need some time to recover. After all, how do you explain to your boss that a man on a bicycle just held up your branch?

Smile for the Cameras (Or Don’t)

The FBI has released images and video footage of the bike bandit in all his Lycra-free glory. Authorities are asking anyone who recognizes the man—or his beloved blue bike—to speak up.

Why Steal Cash When You Can Crowdfund?

We’re not saying crime pays, but we are saying this guy definitely isn’t using Venmo. Maybe next time he’ll rob the bank via Zoom? Either way, we hope he at least wore a helmet—because karma rides faster than a Schwinn.
