THE RECORD
HO-HO-KUS — A black bear cub was spotted in the borough on Wednesday morning but appeared to pose no threat to the public, police said.
Lt. Christopher Minchin, the officer in charge of the Ho-Ho-Kus Police Department, said the cub “exhibited normal behavior” and eventually moved on, heading south.
The cub was initially spotted on Sheridan Avenue around 7 a.m., close to the Waldwick line, Minchin said.
Police decided against intervening, but then the cub headed toward the Ho-Ho-Kus Public School on Lloyd Road. That’s when officers approached the cub, Minchin said, working together to direct the animal out of the borough.

Its nor PC to use Black Bear it should read Bear.
Why direct it to another area. makes more sense to catch and release it completely out of the area to western part of the state where it is forested.
Because it is not an adult bear, 2:04pm, it is a bear cub, the momma of which is likely somewhere nearby. Better to tail the bear cub (relatively harmless) to find out where momma bear is hiding than snatch and relocate the bear cub. Relocation would probably end up killing the bear cub and cause momma bear to wander even farther afield looking for her missing little one…
Sighting!! Humans sighted all over area in huge killer vehicles, speeding, texting, telephoning. Must be a stupid species. They are an invasive species.
Wrong… Humans are not invasive by any means, they are more like pests….
4:50pm and 7:43pm:
Feel free to help solve the problem by eliminating two of them.
