Bloods Gang Member Wanted by US Marshals Arrested After Violent Struggle with Paramus Police

Paramus NJ, Bloods gang member and ex-convict wanted by the U.S. Marshals Service and several New Jersey police departments was apprehended in Paramus following a violent confrontation with local police officers, authorities confirmed.

According to Paramus Police Deputy Chief Frank Scott, officers Jason Hrbek, Michael Cleary, and Matthew Orefice responded to a dispute on Howland Avenue around 1:15 p.m. on Thursday, June 19, where they encountered Danny Urena, 32, of Passaic, NJ.

🔴 Wanted Gang Member Resists Arrest

Urena, who stands 6’3” and weighs 310 pounds, initially provided officers with a false identity. When the officers attempted to detain him, Urena violently resisted, flailing his arms and legs in an attempt to strike the officers.

As police tried to gain control of the situation, Urena fled on foot, initiating a brief chase and physical struggle before being taken into custody.

🛑 Multiple Active Warrants

A background check revealed multiple active warrants for Urena’s arrest, including from:

  • U.S. Marshals Service

  • Asbury Park Police Department

  • Freehold Police Department

  • Hawthorne Police Department

🧾 Criminal History

Urena’s criminal history includes:

  • 2019 arrest in Paterson: Pulled a loaded gun on two police officers during a confrontation.

  • 2018 SWAT standoff in Elmwood Park: Broke into his girlfriend’s apartment, self-inflicted knife wounds, and barricaded himself inside.

🚓 Current Charges

Following the June 19 arrest, Urena was charged with:

  • Three counts of aggravated assault on a police officer

  • Resisting arrest

  • Hindering apprehension by providing false information

He was transported to Paramus Police Headquarters, booked, and remanded to Bergen County Jail pending a bail hearing.  The defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

    1. Nonsense. First of all, not all Latinos are immigrants or illegals and we have to stop politicizing every little thing. If this guy is illegal, deport him to that El Salvador prison since he already has a criminal record. If he is not illegal make him do major prison time here. He’s obviously dangerous to the public. The Paramus police officers were lucky they weren’t killed or seriously hurt. I’d also be asking what he was doing near Howland Avenue. Do other Blood Gang members live near there?
