WYCKOFF, NJ — A longtime local favorite has closed its doors, but something new is on the way. After serving the community for more than two decades, Café Amici officially closed on June 30, with plans to transform the space into a brand-new concept: Wyckoff Tavern.
The new restaurant will open at the same location, 315 Franklin Ave., Wyckoff, and is already hiring staff.
From Café Amici to Wyckoff Tavern
The owners, who ran Café Amici for 23 years, shared a heartfelt farewell earlier this summer, thanking loyal customers who supported them through floods, hurricanes, COVID-19, power outages, long waits, heatwaves, and freezing winters.
“This transformation will be a positive one for all of us,” they wrote. “We will be creating a fresh new look, a full bar, and a patio that we finally got approvals for. The Wyckoff Tavern will be born amidst its long-running predecessor.”
What Will Stay on the Menu?
While the restaurant will take on a new name and vibe, the owners reassured fans that staple menu items and original recipes will remain — just with some new variations.
“We will never steer away from our priority: to have the freshest food and best service for our guests,” they wrote.
One fan on social media summed up what many regulars were hoping for:
“I hope you keep the chicken scarpiello, salmon, and fish dishes on your menu. Good luck and excited to see your new establishment.”

Boring, while the menu was good it’s boring, same old stuff. If that’s what they bring to this place they are in trouble. And the process were off the chart. We will wait and see
