Home Rule: The biggest savings would come from doing away with most of the county government

I think the biggest savings would come from doing away with most of the county goverment. The circus act that our elected county officals of both parties have been for the last decade or more is a disgrace! These people can’t even get along with each other and they want other people to go into business with them? Who in their right mind would want to put their head in that hornets nest!

Look at what is going on in Nassau County? They have large regional county services and saving nothing. They are cutting services and closing police stations. Not to mention the many other cuts to quality of life services. My family still lives in Nassau and their property taxes were no better then they are in Ridgewood!

>Major US Airport To Evict TSA Screeners

>Major US Airport To Evict TSA Screeners
Orlando Sanford International could prompt stampede of other opt-outs
Paul Joseph Watson
Infowars.com
Wednesday, March 14, 2012

One of America’s busiest airports, Orlando Sanford International, has announced it will opt out of using TSA workers to screen passengers, a move which threatens the highly unpopular federal agency’s role in other airports across the nation.

“The president of the airport said Tuesday that he would apply again to use private operators to screen passengers, using federal standards and oversight,” reports the Miami Herald.

With Sanford International having originally been prevented by the TSA from opting out back in November 2010 when the federal agency froze the ability for airports to use their own private screeners, a law passed by the Senate last month forces the TSA to reconsider applications.

>Obama Fares Worse Among Women after Month-Long Contraception Mandate Battle
Washington Post poll contradicts Washington Post narrative about female voters.
2:37 PM, MAR 12, 2012 • BY JOHN MCCORMACK

How’s the great contraception mandate battle of 2012 playing out? If you read the Washington Post’s news coverage, the issue is supposedly killing Republicans among female voters. But the newest Washington Post/ABC poll tells a different story.

During the first few days of February, about a week before Obama declared a so-called “accommodation” to the contraception/abortifacient mandate, a Washington Post/ABC poll showed Obama’s approval rating at 50 percent, with 46 percent of Americans disapproving.

Then, from March 7 to 10–a week into the national media firestorm surrounding Rush Limbaugh’s degrading remarks about Georgetown Law student and liberal activist Sandra Fluke–Washington Post/ABC conducted another poll. It found Obama’s approval rating at 46 percent, down four points from February, and his disapproval rating at 50 percent, up four points from February.

>Obama’s $50 light bulb: ‘Too pricey’?

>Obama’s $50 light bulb: ‘Too pricey’?
By The Week’s Editorial Staff | The Week – 5 hrs ago

The winner of a $10 million government contest to develop a super-efficient light bulb is here. But will anybody want it?

The Obama administration announced last year that it would award $10 million to the company that could create a light bulb that was both eco-friendly and affordable. The winning LED bulb, made by Philips, is about to hit the market. There’s only one problem: It costs $50. The price of your standard incandescent bulb, on the other hand, hovers in the $1 region. The $10 million award, dubbed the L Prize, is part of the government’s plan to phase out all energy-wasting incandescent bulbs over the next several years. But could Obama’s $50 light bulb possibly be worth its price?

>Neighbors on edge over recent spate of burglaries in Ridgewood

>Neighbors on edge over recent spate of burglaries in Ridgewood

(RIDGEWOOD-NJ) There were reports of two men or women making the rounds soliciting last night ,some reported two women claimed to be from Mt Carmel Church other reported two men .If in doubt its best to contact the Ridgewood Police  as they say if you see something say something . It may be nothing but it is best to be safe.

“Did anyone have two women from a church come to their house last night around 8pm?  Greg answered the door and thought it was very odd to have solicitors at that time from a religious group.  Just curious because we are thinking about informing the Ridgewood police.”

“We were at the diner having dinner at that time so I can’t say if they came to our house. I hope Ginger barked loud enough to scare them!
I would report it, Kelly.  There must be some ordinance with regard to solicitation hours.”

“Two men came to our house around the same time last night and we are thinking about calling the police as well”

“You guys should definitely report it.  They need a license from the village to solicit and it’s too late to be legit”

“Now we are for sure calling the police today-  I think anyone that had these solicitors at their door should put in a phone call to the authorites. “

“Yes,   They said they were from Mount Carmel.    Strange!!    I very politely sent them away.
They wanted to tell me that God love’s me but otherwise seemed very unsure as to why they were there.”

“Yes, two women came to me door claiming from Mount Carmel. nice though. I didn’t sense any alarm.”

Jobs Recession Now 49 Months: Longest Since WWII
By ED CARSON, INVESTOR’S BUSINESS DAILY
Posted 08:38 AM ET

The U.S. economy added 227,000 jobs in February vs. expectations for 206,000, continuing a recent trend of decent hiring activity. The unemployment rate held at 8.3%.

But America remains mired in the longest jobs recession since the Great Depression. It’s been 49 months since the U.S. hit peak employment in January 2008. And with nonfarm payrolls still 5.33 million below their old high, the jobs slump will continue for several more years.

>Margaret Sanger the founder of Planned Parenthood

>Margaret Sanger the founder of Planned Parenthood

I thought eugenics went out of style after that whole Third Reich thing…

Not Nazi germany.
Try American Socialist Utopianism.

This is all part of the liberal left’s socialist Utopia agenda. They tried right here in the USA in the 20’s… and they have not given up trying.

Read up on it…

Read up on Margaret Sanger.
She was the founder of Planned Parenthood.

Here are some of her thoughts on birth control and eugenics:

“The purpose in promoting birth control was “to create a race of thoroughbreds,” she wrote in the Birth Control Review, Nov. 1921

“The most merciful thing that a large family does to one of its infant members is to kill it.”
Margaret Sanger, Women and the New Race (Eugenics Publ. Co., 1920, 1923)

“More children from the fit, less from the unfit — that is the chief aim of birth control.” Birth Control Review, May 1919

These are not “out of context” quotes…
Do your own research.
There is much, much more.

…and I won’t even talk about her thoughts on race.

But, go ahead. You keep right on voting for these guys…

>Collaborative classes is not what is out of control. It is the additional services that most regular education parents pay for themselves.

Collaborative classes is not what is out of control. It is the additional services that most regular education parents pay for themselves. How many kids in Ridgewood have private tutors paid for by their parents? Home programs given to students after school and on weekends are paid for by the district.

The same goes for extended year programs. They are supposed to be provided based on the issues of regression and recoupment. Do you know of any student that doesn’t go back to school “rusty” after a summer off? Well special education students get these regularly without a true need being displayed. These are the costs that are going to clearly take away from providing quality education to all students.
