Ridgewood NJ, the second Ridgewood Village Council Chat of the year will take place tomorrow, May 3rd from 9:00 am to 11:00 am in the Caucus Room on the 4th floor of Village Hall. If you would like to talk with two of our elected officials, please call 201-670-5500, ext. 2206 to reserve a time slot. Walk-ins also are welcome, but residents with appointments will be accommodated first.

Ridgewood Celebrates the Daffodil Festival and Earth Day Fair

Ridgewood NJ, Sunday April 27th  was the annual Daffodil Festival and Earth Day Fair at Van Neste Square. Residents and neighbors got to explore this year’s theme focused on protecting water. The event is a collaboration between village staff and volunteers including the Ridgewood Parks & Recreation Department, Conservancy for Ridgewood Public Lands, and Green Ridgewood.
One of the highlights is the Daffy Dog Parade, where dogs can dress in costumes.

Did you know??? Ridgewood has a Women’s Summer Softball League! The League has been around for over 25 years. However, our membership has begun to decline. Our League is a ton of fun and not only do you get to get out of the house and have a night that revolves around YOU being the star athlete (as opposed to your child!) but you also get to meet an amazing group of women! The camaraderie amongst the players is off the charts and we have competitive games full of laughter and respect.

Upper Saddle River NJ, the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) Division of Sustainable Waste Management (DSWM) has reviewed information from the Division of Fish and Wildlife (F&W), New Jersey Department of Health (NJDOH) and other Federal and State sources, and has prepared additional guidance for counties and municipalities regarding the handling and disposal of dead birds or wildlife suspected of infection with HPAI. Be advised that the cause of death should be considered HPAI unless there is evidence of an obvious trauma, or the dead birds are songbirds.
