HACKENSACK, NJ – Hackensack’s massive Print House redevelopment project is about to get a major culinary boost! Wonder, a popular food hall-style restaurant chain known for its rotating menu of celebrity chef creations, is set to open its doors on River Street next month.
The arrival of Wonder marks another significant step in transforming the former headquarters of The Record into a vibrant mixed-use community hub.
What is Wonder and Why is it a Big Deal?
Founded in 2018, Wonder isn’t your average takeout spot. It operates as a unique food hall where customers can order from multiple food booths—each featuring menus designed by some of the country’s most celebrated chefs.
Imagine ordering dishes from culinary legends like Bobby Flay, José Andrés, and Marcus Samuelsson all in one online app, and having them delivered, ready for takeout, or enjoyed in the dine-in space. That’s the Wonder experience.
The company has been rapidly expanding across the tri-state area, with nearly 40 locations already established, including nearby spots in Cresskill, Midland Park, Teterboro, and Parsippany.
The new 4,350-square-foot Hackensack location is expected to open in mid-October, according to Michael Walters, a senior vice president at NAI James E. Hanson, the commercial real estate firm that negotiated the lease.
Print House: Hackensack’s Dynamic New Hub
Wonder is the latest business to join the growing list of tenants at the sprawling 20-acre Print House development along the Hackensack River. This project is quickly becoming a prime destination due to its accessibility and convenience.
Retail and Commercial Tenants Already Open or Coming Soon:
- Lidl: The German discount grocery store opened its 23,250-square-foot store in July.
- Medical & Banking: Leases have also been signed with Hackensack Meridian Health and Blue Foundry Bank.
- Fast Casual: The site also features Starbucks and Jersey Mike’s.
- Future Dining: Azul, a high-end Mexican restaurant, is slated to open in early 2026.
- More to Come: The final 2,000-square-foot retail space is expected to be leased to another restaurant within the next month, further solidifying the Print House as a dining destination.
The mixed-use complex boasts nearly 700 residential units on-site, plus an additional 40,000 square feet of retail space. Furthermore, a new public river walk along the Hackensack River and a dog run have recently opened, enhancing the appeal of the area for residents.
“Hackensack is incredibly dynamic. People are choosing this location because of its convenience and accessibility,” said Walters, noting the project’s proximity to hundreds of residential units both at Print House and across the river in Bogota.
