FAIR LAWN, NJ — A chain reaction crash on Monday afternoon, July 14, in the 1500 block of westbound Broadway caused significant traffic delays, damaged two vehicles, and left a 16-year-old male with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the Fair Lawn Police Department.
Emergency crews, including Elmwood Park Police and Fair Lawn Police, responded swiftly to the scene. The injured teen was treated by a Bergen County EMS ambulance crew before being transported for further medical evaluation.
A flatbed tow truck was needed to remove the most heavily damaged vehicle from the roadway.
🚧 Traffic Impact
Both travel lanes of westbound Broadway were shut down between 17th Street and Summit Avenue while emergency responders worked to clear the crash scene. Commuters experienced delays in the area, but normal traffic flow was restored once the vehicles were removed.
🚓 Police Response
Fair Lawn Police confirmed that Elmwood Park PD patrol officers also assisted in managing the incident. The cause of the crash has not yet been disclosed, and an investigation remains ongoing.
