New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R), after a low-key initial response to Friday’s explosive allegations about his bridge-closing involvement, mounted a pugilistic defense late Saturday afternoon, attacking The New York Times and a former political ally in an email to friends and allies obtained by POLITICO.

“Bottom line – David Wildstein will do and say anything to save David Wildstein,” the email from the governor’s office says, referring to the former appointee who reignited the controversy. A letter from Wildstein’s lawyer on Friday asserted that “evidence exists … tying Mr. Christie to having knowledge of the lane closures, during the period when the lanes were closed, contrary to what the Governor stated publicly in a two-hour press conference.”

  1. Still attacking the messenger?

  2. Those seats at the Bowl Game will have an unfriendly reception for this guy today.

  3. #3 Really, have we become that used to dirty politics? I am appalled if it’s true, that a government official, with the help of others, would close down a bridges because he didn’t like the way the mayor of a town voted! And a women died, but oh well, she was old. Too bad. Are you kidding me?

    1. sorry there is terrible traffic every single day on the GWB bridge

  4. Always pass the buck.

    1. once again you need some kind of evidence to support allegations , please read the the article again

  5. So James, that condones their action?. Vote the way we want or pay the consequences. Even if Christie didn’t know, highly unlikely, bullying and retaliation ok?

    1. Hello you live in New Jersey , the over the top coverage for Christie ignores 40 plus years of non stop corruption in Trenton and at most County levels . Where was all the news coverage , the same media has poo pooed all the other scandals , Bullying goes on right here in Ridgewood and is the main reason for the anonymous posts . The real issues seems to be whe4n Democrats do it its ok , but when its done to them its not .

  6. Bullying goes on right here in Ridgewood, oh trust me, I know that. I have been reading all about political payback, retaliation on the blog. The appalling part is you just act like oh well, that’s the way it is. And Christie, oh well, people have done worse. The way you think scares me.

  7. James wouldn’t be “snoring” if Corzine pulled this shit. Hypocrisy. Look it up.

    1. Cozine did all the time , thats my point so did mac creepy and almost every politician in this state , this blog has had run in with many of them both Democrat and “Republican” Perhaps you were out of the state for the last 40 years ?

  8. But does it make it right? You act like it’s Ok. Not! People should not have this accepting attitude thats its ok.

    1. It not right , but the media has zero credibility on this issue , let face it the GWB has a traffic jam EVERY SINGLE DAY , what about the IRS targeting, Benghazi , Xanadu mall, the Village Hall fiasco , $500,000 golden toilet , NSA domestic spying , government by executive order , the mobile cell tower , the squandered gov stimulus package , the federal debt , government waste , common core, failed gov education policies, global warming hoax, fake energy crisis it goes on and on and on and on but we are just going to talk about traffic on the GWB …
